Before you start — three things worth knowing
1. Prices here are higher than what people actually pay. Most printable shops run a permanent sale, so a listing showing £4 is often selling at half that. Etsy does not share the discounted price, only the original. Check a few listings yourself before deciding what to charge.
2. “Typical” means the middle one. If the typical price is $3, half the listings cost more and half cost less. It is a fairer summary than an average, which one very expensive listing can drag upwards.
3. View counts all use the same unit. Every keyword below reports attention in the same units so you can compare them directly, and each one also tells you the plain per-day figure. A long-tail keyword genuinely gets only a handful of views a month, so small numbers here are real, not an error.
4. The order of listings is Etsy's, not ours. We ask Etsy for its search results and look at the first hundred, the same ones a shopper would see first. View counts are shown for context, but they are not what decides the order.
5. Coloured numbers show what changed since last time. Green is good news for you, red is a warning. Watch the direction: more competitors is red, higher prices is green. “Last time” means the previous run of that keyword, which is not always a week: park one for a season and bring it back, and the marker will say how long the change really covers.
6. About the verdicts. Each keyword is put through five quick checks: can a new shop get in, do the rankings move, does it get more attention than your other keywords, is competition lighter than your others, and are rivals arriving slowly. A check that lands in the middle, or that we could not measure, is set aside rather than counted against the keyword — which is why you will see “passed 3 of 4” as often as “3 of 5”. Three of the checks compare a keyword against the others in your own list, so the verdicts rank your list rather than judge Etsy as a whole.
